রাজ্যসভায় তৃণমূল সাংসদ জহর সরকার আবার তাঁর বক্তৃতায় বাংলার প্রতি কেন্দ্রীয় বঞ্চনার উপরে জোর দিয়েছেন। জানিয়েছেন, ‘‘পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উপরে আর্থিক অবরোধ চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে কেন্দ্র। একশো দিনের কাজ, আবাস-সড়ক-স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্র যোজনায় প্রায় পৌনে দু’লক্ষ কোটি টাকা আটকে রাখা হয়েছে। বাংলার প্রতি তাদের বিশেষ বিদ্বেষ রয়েছে। কারণ,
বার বার সেখানে তারা হেরেছে।’’ তিনি মনে করিয়ে দেন, তৃণমূল একমাত্র দল যারা লোকসভা ও রাজ্যসভা মিলিয়ে ৩৮শতাংশ মহিলাকে সংসদে পাঠিয়েছে। জহরের কটাক্ষ, ‘‘আগে বৃষ্টি পড়লে ছাদ থেকে জল চুঁইয়ে পড়ত। কিন্তু অর্থমন্ত্রী ১০-১১ লক্ষ কোটি টাকা প্রতি বছর পরিকাঠামোয় ব্যয় করার পরে দেখা যাচ্ছে, যখনই বৃষ্টি হচ্ছে ছাদ ভেঙে পড়ছে। ফাঁস হচ্ছে পরীক্ষার প্রশ্নপত্রও।’’
